Bandeirante Militia, officially known as the Permanent Municipal Guard (Portuguese: Milícia Bandeirante; Guarda Municipal Permanente), was a paramilitary force in the Province of São Paulo and the first version of the current Military Police of São Paulo State. The creation of the garrison was decreed during the government of Tobias de Aguiar, on December 15, 1831.
