Buôn Đôn is a rural district of Đắk Lắk province in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. As of 2003, the district had a population of 56,238. The district covers an area of 1,414 km². The district capital lies at Ea Wer.
Name
Its original name is Băn Dón (Buôn Dôn in Rhade language) from Laotian language, what means "the village of the isle". It is related with a small stone bund on Srepok River, where Laotian people have lived since XIX century.
