He was then drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 35th round of the 2018 MLB draft, but again did not sign and returned to Gonzaga.

On November 15, 2022, the Twins added Legumina to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

On November 18, 2022, the Twins traded Legumina to the Cincinnati Reds for Kyle Farmer. Legumina was optioned to the Triple-A Louisville Bats to begin the 2023 season. He recorded a 1.59 ERA with five strikeouts in 5+2⁄3 innings pitched to begin the year.

On April 15, 2023, the Reds promoted Legumina to the major leagues for the first time. He made 11 appearances for Cincinnati in his rookie campaign, posting a 5.68 ERA with 11 strikeouts across 12+2⁄3 innings pitched. Legumina was again optioned to Triple–A Louisville to begin the 2024 season.
