Clínica Alemana de Santiago ("The German Hospital of Santiago") is a private health care facility in Santiago de Chile, Chile. It operates three locations: one on Avenida Vitacura in the Vitacura neighborhood, one in Chicureo, and another in La Dehesa.
The hospital is affiliated with the German-Chilean Beneficence Corporation, which replaced the Beneficent Society of the German Hospital, originally founded on 5 July 1905.
History
The German community in Chile opened its first hospital in 1918 on Davila Street, in what is now the Independencia commune. In 1970, the building was sold to the Bank's Pension Fund.
In March 1973, the current Clínica Alemana opened its doors on Avenida Vitacura, where it continues to operate today. Over the years, it has established itself as one of the leading private healthcare facilities in Chile.
In 1999, Clínica Alemana expanded by opening a medical center in La Dehesa. In 2005, construction began on a new 16-story building at the Vitacura headquarters, designed for advanced diagnostics. This building opened in 2006. In 2020, a third facility was inaugurated in Chicureo, on the outskirts of Santiago.
