The concrete-walled channel section of the creek

Clear Paddock Creek is a tributary of Orphan School Creek, which in turn, is a tributary of Prospect Creek, located in the City of Fairfield, NSW. The creek, being mostly concrete-lined, starts from Brisbane Road in St Johns Park and ends at Orphan School Creek to the east near King Road in Fairfield West.

Geography

The creek flows north from Clear Paddock Basin in the Bonnyrigg/Edensor Park boundary, just near Smithfield Road, then turns its course north-east from Edensor Road, before emptying into Orphan School Creek in Wakeley. It is approximately 5 km in length. To the south of Clear Paddock Basin, the creek becomes subterranean or tunnelled, where it flows underground in a southwesterly direction to the northeastern fringes of Green Valley.

Regeneration

The creek is mostly concrete-walled (like a culvert), though recently, Fairfield City Council removed 2.5km of concrete-lined stormwater channel in a small part of the creek to the west in Bonnyrigg, and restored the natural creek ecosystem with riparian vegetation, which was originally a Coastal Swamp Oak Forest.
