Confluence University of Science and Technology is a Technical University located in Kogi State. The institution gained full approval of Nigerian University Commission for all the courses it offers in 2024.

History

On 19th August, 2020, The Kogi assembly passed the establishment of another institution in the state alongside the existing ones.Medicine, Law and some other core courses were approved by the NUC as courses to be taught in the school in 2024. Anatomy, Physiology and other medical related courses were approved in February 2024. In December 2024, The conversion of the Reference Hospital, Okene to Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Teaching Hospital was signed as a Bill by Ahmed Usman Ododo and passed into law by the house of assembly in Kogi State.

Abduction case

Students were abducted in the campus while they were in the school premises to read for their in first semester exam scheduled to hold on 13th of May, 2024. The kidnappers entered a classroom, fired gun shots and a number of students were abducted after the operation. Early May 2024, Undisclosed number of students were rescued from the kidnappers by the Kogi State Government after an encounter with the perpetrator in their hidden place. The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology declared three days break to mourn the death of students killed during the attack.

Admission

The school holds admission for students across the Joint admission board for 50 courses across 8 faculties in the University with the minimum jamb score being 140.

Principal officers

Confluence University of Science and Technology has a Chancellor as its ceremonial head while a Vice-chancellor carry out the administrative work in the school. The tenure of office is usually 4 years non-renewable years.
