Do Not Throw Cushions Into the Ring is a 1970 American film. It was directed, written by and starred character actor Steve Ihnat.
The film was based on Ihnat's experiences as a character actor. It was shot for $35,000, financed by Ihnat, with the budget going up to $75,000 if deferred salaries were allowed to be paid. The movie was filmed on 16 mm and blown up to 35mm. The movie led to Ihnat obtaining finance for a studio film, The Honkers.

Reception
Variety called it " a fairly inventive piece of film craftsmanship" with "an interesting theme. That theme, however, by its very nature is too professional to attract general audiences...lack of cohesion and continuity and an inclination to bring in far too many unrelated ingredients militate against film’s commercial chances."
