Genus of fishes This article is about the moray eel genus Echidna Forster, 1788. Not to be confused with the monotreme genus Echidna Cuvier, 1797, now known as Tachyglossus Illiger, 1811 or the viper genus Echidna Merrem, 1820, now known as Bitis Gray, 1842.

Echidna species lack canine teeth.

They generally eat crustaceans.
