Tenity is a startup incubator, accelerator and early-stage VC founded in 2016 in Zürich focused primarily on Fintech, Insurtech, Regtech and Deeptech. It provides incubation and acceleration programs helping startups to connect with corporates, experts, mentors, and investors for early stage venture and late stage venture investing, and collaboration opportunities. The company currently has operating hubs in Zürich, Singapore, Madrid, and Tallinn.
As of July 2023, the company has accepted over 280 companies into its programs who together have raised more than $370 Million USD combined.
History
In 2014, SIX (Switzerland's stock exchange) launched a new initiative to accelerate their innovation process which grew into Tenity. It was formally launched as FinTech Startup Incubator / Accelerator in August 2015 by Markus Graf and Andreas Iten in Zürich. Tenity held its first program in July 2017 when it selected 14 startups among 260 international teams from the financial, insurance and regulatory technology sector. Since then, more than 280 startups have gone through Tenity programs.
Tenity has partnered with leading financial institutions corporate partners, including UBS, SIX, Julius Bär, Generali Switzerland, BME Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, Renta 4, TX Group, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Franklin Templeton, Klaytn, and Microsoft Switzerland.
Notable alumni companies include Yokoy, Apiax, PXL Vision, Futurae exeon, FQX, Relio, and Stableton.
Structure
Startups can apply for Tenity's early-stage incubation programs twice a year. As per July 2023, in exchange for 2.5% participation, each company accepted into Tenity receives pre-seed investment of CHF50,000, access to the Tenity network, and a four-month accelerator program. On the last day, the 10-15 companies pitch publicly in front of investors, Tenity alumni, the local entrepreneur scene and corporate partners during the Demo day.
In addition to its early-stage incubator, Tenity hosts acceleration programs in partnership with corporates.
