FieldComm Group is a non-profit organization consisting of leading process end users, manufacturers, universities and research organizations. It is responsible for the development of HART and FOUNDATION Fieldbus communication technologies as well as development of Field Device Integration (FDI) Technology.

History

On August 30, 2014, members of the HART Communication Foundation and Fieldbus Foundation voted to approve a merger proposition put forward by their respective boards. The merger was completed and both entities began operating as a single entity on January 1, 2015. That single entity is the FieldComm Group which officially began operating in 2015. The FieldComm Group assumed ownership of the Intellectual Property of the HART Communication Foundation and Fieldbus Foundation.
