Hideko Nishioka (西岡秀子, Nishioka Hideko) (born 15 March 1964) is a Japanese politician, representing Nagasaki 1st district in the House of Representatives of Japan; first for the Kibō no Tō and then for the Democratic Party For the People.

Life

She earned a law degree from Gakushūin University, before becoming a parliamentary assistant to her father, a member of the House of Representatives of Japan.

In January 2016, she ran for office, nominated by the Democratic Party of Japan. She failed to be elected, and lost to incumbent councillor Genjirō Kaneko.

in the 2017 Japanese general election She ran against the incumbent MP Tsutomu Tomioka (ja), representing the Liberal Democratic Party. She won the election by a narrow margin, succeeding Tomioka and recovering her father's seat

She ran in the 2021 Japanese parliamentary elections, and retained her position.
