History
Saudi Arabia's Highway 10 240 kilometers (150 mi) straight section has emerged as the world's longest straight road, surpassing Australia's Eyre Highway 146 kilometers (91 mi) straight section. This revelation marks a significant milestone in the realm of Transportation infrastructure, as the expansive stretch of Highway 10 extends farther than its predecessor.
The highway cuts through the vast Rub' al Khali desert, also known as the Empty Quarter. The road was originally built as a private road for King Fahd of Saudi Arabia.
