On 15 October 2024 at approximately 11:20 a.m., a gunman opened fire on a police car and other vehicles traveling south on Highway 4, near the Yavne interchange, Yavne, Israel. Four people were injured, and one police officer was killed. The perpetrator was killed by an armed civilian passing by.

Attack

On 15 October 2024, a gunman armed with a handgun opened fire on a police car and other vehicles, near the Yavne Interchange.

The attack resulted in the fatal wounding of First Sgt. Adir Kadosh, a 33-year-old police officer, who was later pronounced dead at Assuta Medical Center in Ashdod. Another individual sustained minor to moderate injuries from glass shards when his vehicle was targeted. The attacker was neutralized and killed by an armed civilian passing by.

Perpetrator

The gunman was identified as 28-year-old Mohammed Dardouna, a Palestinian from the northern Gaza Strip who had lived in Jabalia and illegally in the West Bank in recent years.

Response

Israeli far-right politician and Ministry of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, arrived at the scene of the attack and stated that the individual who killed the terrorist had obtained their gun license three months earlier as a result of his weapon reform.
