International figure skating competition
The ISU Junior Grand Prix in Switzerland is an international figure skating competition . Sanctioned by the International Skating Union , it is periodically held in the autumn as part of the Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series. Medals may be awarded in men's singles, women's singles , pair skating , and ice dance .
Switzerland hosted the 1997–98 Junior Series Final in Lausanne . There, American Timothy Goebel became the first skater in the world to successfully perform a quadruple Salchow jump in competition, and the first American skater to land a quadruple jump of any kind in competition.
