  • It was only the fifth time in Tests that four or more batsmen had passed three figures in a single innings.
  • Gordon Greenidge retired in the West Indian first innings to see his dying daughter. Out of respect, an exception to the Laws of Cricket was made to classify Greenidge as "retired not out" for this innings.
