Jerzy Józef Elizeusz Szembek (14 June 1851 – 7 August 1905) was a Roman Catholic bishop of the Archdiocese of Mohilev.

Biography

Szembek was born to Józef and Józefa (née Moszyńskich) Szembek. After finishing schooling in 1869, he studied the history of Polish literature and law at Jagiellonian University. On 25 July 1890, he began to attend the seminary in Saratov; he was ordained on 19 March 1893. He was later made a vicar of the cathedral in Saratow the same year.

On 16 April 1901, Szembek was appointed Bishop of Płock; he was consecrated on 30 April by Bolesław Hieronim Kłopotowski, with assistance from Antanas Baranauskas and Karol Antoni Niedziałkowski. On 9 November 1903, he was appointed by Pius X as Archbishop of Mohilev.
