The Los Angeles Angels are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team based in Anaheim, California. They have competed in the American League (AL) since 1961, and in the AL West division since it was formed in 1969. Having undergone a number of name changes, the team has previously been known as the California Angels, Anaheim Angels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
