Eddie Mathews (1931-2001) - Hall of Fame MLB 3rd Baseman for the Boston, Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves (1962-66) Houston Astros (1967-68) and Detroit Tigers (1968) grew up in Santa Barbara and was nicknamed "The Santa Barbara Bomber" for his home run prowess.
