Notes

  1. Siaosi Tupou I had a number of other wives but he repudiated most of them by 1834 and Queen Sālote was his only wife married in Christian rites.
  2. Although Siaosi Tupou II practiced monogamy, he had affair with other women, fathering a few children, whose descendants are greatly prominent today in both Tonga and Fiji.
