Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait is the presiding officer of the National Assembly of Kuwait.

There is no speaker of the National Assembly as parliament has been dissolved in 15 February (Elections held on 4 April 2024) and 10 May 2024 After the emir Shiekh Mishal Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah.

Announced on state TV that the parliament will be dissolved and several articles of the constitution will be suspended for the next 4 years.

  1. On July 3, 1986, the Emir suspended the Constitution and dissolved the National Assembly indefinitely. During Iraq's occupation of Kuwait and under intense international pressure, the Emir pledged to revive the National Assembly after Kuwait was liberated. As a result, Kuwait held a legislative election on October 5, 1992.
  2. On June 20, 2012, the Constitutional Court annulled the February 2012 legislative election and reinstated the National Assembly elected in 2009, of which al-Kharafi was Speaker.
  3. In June 2013, the Constitutional Court annulled December 2012 legislative election and ordered the holding of fresh elections.
  4. In March 2023, the Constitutional Court annulled 2022 legislative election and ordered the holding of fresh elections.
