Margherita Della Valle (born 13 April 1965, Veneto) is an Italian businesswoman who has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of Vodafone since January 2023. Della Valle was elected Chairman of 100 Group, the association that brings together FTSE 100 CFOs.

Early life

Della Valle was born and grew up in Veneto Region, Italy.

Biography

Della Valle attended Lycée Albert Premier in Monaco. She holds a master's degree in economics from Bocconi University.

During her early career, Della Valle became part of Omnitel Pronto Italia, which transitioned to Vodafone Italy in 1994. She started at the company as a marketing analyst. She held the role of Chief Financial Officer for Vodafone Italy between 2004 and 2007.

Between 2015 and 2018, Della Valle served as Vodafone's Deputy Chief Financial Officer.

In April 2023, Della Valle was appointed as the CEO of Vodafone, becoming the first female CEO of the company. Prior to officially assuming the role, Della Valle temporarily assumed the role in January 2023, succeeding Nick Read.

In 2023, she ranked 42nd in Forbes list of "World's 100 most powerful women".

She was ranked 36th on Fortune's list of Most Powerful Women in 2023.

Personal Life

Della Valle is married and has two sons. She currently resides in London.
