History

Market Place in 2014

The town was granted a charter to hold a market in 1285 and this became the main trading and economic hub of the then-village of Wragby. It continued to see increase popularity between the 15th and 16th centuries. The town expanded around the market place. Some of the buildings saw renovations between the 18th and 19th centuries. The layout has remained largely the same.

Present day

The market place is now mostly used for car parking and occasional market events. The nearby Adam and Eve Pub mostly holds the markets of Wragby on its car park. The town centre is also designated as a conservation area.
