8th Chief of Defence Forces (1931–2021) In this Malay name, there is no surname or family name. The name Che Mat is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by their given name, Mohd Ghazali. The word "bin" or "binti"/"binte" means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.

General Mohd Ghazali bin Che Mat (17 December 1931 – 7 July 2021) was a Chief of Malaysian army and Chief of Defence Forces.

Mohd Ghazali died at the Tuanku Mizan Armed Forces Hospital in Wangsa Maju on 7th July 2021 at the age of 89.
