Musaymir is a village in the Abyan Governorate of south-western Yemen. It was once the capital of the powerful Haushabi Sultanate.
History
Formerly Musaymir was the capital of the Haushabi Sultanate. The history of Musaymir dates back to the 13th century when it emerged as the center of the Haushabi Sultanate, a prominent ruling power in the region. The sultanate was renowned for its architectural achievements, evident in the construction of fortified citadels, grand mosques, and elaborate irrigation systems.
