Glacier National Park is the only national park to be solely in the state of Montana

There are two national parks located in the U.S. state of Montana managed by the National Park Service: Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone National Park is one of three national parks to be located in more than one state and the only national park to be located in three states, the other two being Wyoming and Idaho. The state of Montana receives more than 5 million tourists and visitors to its national parks.

Glacier

Glacier National Park was established on May 11, 1910 as the United States' tenth national park. The park covers more than one-million acres and is home to many famous mountains and roads, such as Going-to-the-Sun Road and Chief Mountain. The park is located in two Montana counties: Glacier and Flathead.

Yellowstone

Main article: Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park, established on March 1, 1872, is the Unites States' first national park. About only three percent of Yellowstone is located in the state of Montana. The park is home to Old Faithful, one of the most famous geysers in the world.
