The New York Tennis Club Open was an open clay court tennis competition founded in 1886 as the New York Lawn Tennis Club Amateur Tournament. The club held two open tournaments one in the spring, and another held in early Autumn. The event was played at the New York Lawn Tennis Club, New York City, United States and was discontinued in 1917.

History

In 1886 the New York Lawn Tennis Club was founded. It staged the first New York Lawn Tennis Club Amateur Tournament in September 1886 the event was played on clay courts. In 1892 the club established a second tournament the New York Lawn Tennis Club Spring Tournament (later called the New York Tennis Club Spring Open). In 1918 the club started a third event called the New York Tennis Club Invitation. All events were played at the New York Lawn Tennis Club, New York City, United States and were discontinued in 1920.
