Omar Brown (born October 10, 2000) is an American football safety who is currently plays for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Northern Iowa and Nebraska.

Early life and high school

Brown attended Minneapolis North High School located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Coming out of high school, Brown decided to commit to play college football for the Northern Iowa Panthers.

College career

Northern Iowa

During Brown's three-year career with the Panthers from 2019 through 2021, Brown appeared in 29 games starting in all of them, where he notched 140 tackles and eight interceptions. During his time with Northern Iowa, Brown also racked up multiple accolades including being named the 2019 FCS Defensive Freshman of the Year, while also being named a FCS All-American. After the conclusion of the 2021 season, Brown decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Nebraska

Brown decided to transfer to play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. During Brown's two-year career at Nebraska in 2022 and 2023, Brown appeared in 23 games, where he totaled 56 tackles with three being for a loss, three pass deflections, an interception, a fumble recovery, and two forced fumbles.

Professional career

Denver Broncos

After not being selected in the 2024 NFL draft, Brown decided to sign with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. However om August 26, 2024, Brown was waived by the Broncos.

Green Bay Packers

On August 29, 2024, Brown signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad. On December 23, 2024, Brown was elevated from the Packers practice squad ahead of their week 16 matchup versus the New Orleans Saints. Brown made his NFL debut later that same day playing, 14 snaps versus the Saints on Monday Night Football.
