Raúl Asencio del Rosario (born 13 February 2003) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Real Madrid.
Early life
Asencio joined the youth academy of Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid at the age of thirteen.
Career
Asencio plays Real Madrid's reserve team Real Madrid Castilla, where he is regarded as one of the most important players. On 9 November 2024, he made his La Liga debut for Real Madrid, coming on as a substitute in a 4–0 victory against CA Osasuna.
Style of play
Asencio mainly operates as a defender and has been described as "decisive with the ball and with great physical conditioning".
Personal life
Asencio is a native of Canary Islands, Spain. Since the fall of 2023 he has been prosecuted by the Spanish justice for the diffusion of a sexual video of a minor.
