Ram Baboo is an Indian track athlete. He won a bronze medal in the team 35 km race walk event at the 2022 Asian Games.

Early life

Baboo was born in Bahuara village, Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh. His achievement received widespread coverage as he was working as a daily wage labourer and a waiter at a hotel even as he was training for athletics. He did his schooling from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and did 6 months training at Major Dhyanchand Sports College, Saifai and then moved to Bhopal for his training.

Career

Baboo established a new national record in the Men's 35 km race walk event at the 2022 National Games in India.

He qualified for 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. But he missed out on the final berth as each country is allowed only three berths and he finished as the fourth athlete to pass the Olympic standard.
