Richard "Rich" Costey is an American music producer, mixer, and engineer known for his innovative and boundary-pushing approach to music production. He has worked with a diverse range of musicians across various genres including rock, indie, pop, hip-hop, and electronica.

He has received critical acclaim and multiple Grammys for his outstanding contributions to the music industry. Some notable collaborators include Fiona Apple, Vampire Weekend, Foo Fighters, Sigur Rós, Muse, Foster the People, Swirlies, Sam Fender, and My Chemical Romance. He has occasionally worked as a DJ and musician on the albums as well. He is managed by René Symonds at Tap Mgmt

Costey operates out of a residential studio on a sprawling 400-acre estate in southern Vermont providing artists with a unique recording environment. He regularly works from studios in both Los Angeles and London, where he typically spends several months of the year.
