A Year of the Quiet Sun (Polish: Rok spokojnego słońca) is a 1984 Polish film written and directed by Krzysztof Zanussi and starring Maja Komorowska and Scott Wilson. It tells the story of a romance between a Polish woman and an American soldier in Poland, shortly after WWII.
The film was nominated for 1986's Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film. At the Venice Film Festival, the film was awarded the Golden Lion and Pasinetti Awards.
