The Diocese of Rouyn-Noranda (Latin: Dioecesis Ruynensis-Norandensis) is a Latin Church diocese that includes part of the Province of Quebec in the Gatineau ecclesiastical province. The Diocese was erected in November of 1973 from the territory within Quebec of Diocese of Timmins, with Jean-Guy Hamelin as the first Bishop of Rouyn-Noranda.
After the retirement of Bishop Dorylas Moreau in 2019, Bishop Gilles Lemay of the Diocese of Amos, another suffragan in the eccleastical province of Gatineau, became the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese until the current bishop, Joseph Ferdinand Guy Boulanger, was installed on March 21, 2020.
In September of 2023, Pope Francis appointed Bishop Guy Boulanger as Bishop of Amos, uniting the two dioceses – Rouyn-Noranda and Amos – in persona episcopi.
As of 2004, the diocese contains 38 parishes, 24 active diocesan priests, 9 religious priests, and 58,000 Catholics. It also has 84 women religious, and 10 religious brothers.
