Sara Naeini (Persian: سارا نائینی, Shiraz, Iran) Iranian singer and songwriter.

Biography

Sara Naeini was born on July 23, 1981, in Shiraz. She has experience working with singers such as Alireza Assar, Mohammad Esfahani and Homayun Shajarian.

She inherited her musical abilities from her mother, Horush Khalili [fa], who was also an Iranian singer and songwriter. She has had her first concert in 1999. Sara Naeini currently teaches music and holds a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Sharia Technical College for girls in Tehran. She discontinued her gymnastics activities due to a neck injury

Sara Naeini, a prominent Iranian singer, has faced arrest as part of the Iranian government's ongoing crackdown on artists and activists advocating for freedom of expression. Known for her powerful voice and resistance against the strict bans on female solo performances in Iran, Naeini became a symbol of defiance against oppressive gender-based restrictions. Her arrest underscores the state's broader efforts to silence dissent and maintain rigid control over cultural and artistic expression. This action not only highlights the personal struggles faced by artists like Naeini but also serves as a stark reminder of the systemic suppression of women's rights and freedom of speech in the country. Despite these challenges, her story continues to inspire many within and beyond Iran to push for justice and change.
