Sarah Ahmad (Urdu: سارہ احمد; born 17 November 1986) is a Pakistani politician and child rights activist. She is currently a member of the Punjab Provincial Assembly and serves as the Chairperson of the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau in Punjab.

Political career

On 8 February 2019, Sarah Ahmad assumed office as Chairperson of the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, a department under the Government of Punjab.

She represented Pakistan at the United Nations Conference on Violence Against Children, held on 19 September 2023, in New York.

In the 2024 Pakistani general election, she was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab on reserved seats for women from the province.

Awards

In 2022, Sarah Ahmad received the Global Collaborative Award in Rome, Italy, for her advocacy against child sexual abuse in Pakistan.

In March 2024, Sarah Ahmad’s dedication to her cause was acknowledged when she was presented with Pakistan’s Woman of Courage Award by the esteemed Donald Blome, the United States Ambassador to Pakistan.

On 23 March 2024, she was honoured with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, a state-organised honour in Pakistan awarded to civilians and military personnel for their outstanding achievements and services to the state. The award was presented by the President of Pakistan.
