Shabaz Masoud (born 4 March 1996) is a British-Pakistani professional boxer. He has held the IBO super-bantamweight title since November 2024.

Early life

Masoud was born in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England on 4 March 1996. His family comes from Kallar Syedan, Pakistan.

Professional career

Early career

Masoud made his professional debut against Bulgarian boxer, Stefan Sashev, whom he defeated, on 12 May 2018 at the Bolton Whites Hotel in Bolton.

Masoud faced Jack Bateson for the WBA Intercontinental super bantamweight title on 11 November 2022. He won the bout by TKO in the twelfth and final round to win the title.

In his first defence of the title, Masoud faced Jose Sanmartin on 11 November 2023. He won the bout by split decision after ten rounds.

Davies vs. Masoud

Masoud faced Liam Davies for the IBO super-bantamweight title on 2 November 2024 at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. He was won the bout by split decision with one judge favouring Davies 115-113 and the other two scoring it 115-113 and 116-112 for Masoud.
