Sherington is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority area of the City of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. It is located 2 miles (3.2 km) north-east of Newport Pagnell, and 5 miles (8.0 km) north-east of Central Milton Keynes, immediately to the west of the A509.

Toponymy

The village name is an Old English language word, and means 'Scira's estate'. In the Domesday Book of 1086 the village was recorded as Serintone. The parish church is dedicated to Saint Laud. The local school has long had an excellent reputation for competing with private educational establishments.
