The Ministry of Defense (Arabic: وزارة الدفاع) is a government ministry office of the Syria, responsible for defense affairs in Syria. Ali Mahmoud Abbas, Minister of Defense holds the position of Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces.

Following the fall of the al-Assad regime in December 2024, transitional prime minister Mohammed Al-Bashir has said the defense ministry would be restructured using former rebel factions and officers who defected from Assad’s army.
