None of the above listed teams/clubs are national teams, nor do these teams regularly represent their home countries in international competition. All of these teams play in their own respective national sports leagues within their own countries. Using the flag icons to designate the teams' geographic locations is not appropriate. It should be noted, however, that Aury Cruz has been a member of the Puerto Rican national team in international competition, and the use of the flag to designate her as a national team member may be appropriate depending on the context. I am quoting WP:WORDPRECEDENCEIn lists or tables, flag icons may be relevant when such representation of different subjects is pertinent to the purpose of the list or table itself. In this case, the subject are Cruz' Clubs. She is representing AZE with Rabita Baku at 2014–15 CEV Women's Champions League. Indeed, are you going to 2014–15 CEV Women's Champions League article and remove all the flags? Do the flags in that article meet MOS:ICON? Since must clubs plays in international events, the section named clubs qualifies to use flagicons. Osplace00:05, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
Rabita Baku is not a national sports team: it is composed of players of multiple nationalities, and is not an Azerbaijani team in the sense that its players are all Azerbaijanis. Aury Cruz is Puerto Rican (which also means that she is an American). Whether Rabita Baku also plays in international competition against other teams of mixed nationalities is not relevant. When the United States sends a national team composed of American athletes to the Olympics, that team represents the United States. When Germany sends a team of German association football (soccer) players to the FIFA World Cup, that team represents Germany. When Rabita Baku sends a team of American, Australian, Hungarian, Polish, Puerto Rican, Serbian and Thai volleyball players to an international competition, that is not national team representing Azerbaijan. Personally, Osplace, I think the idea that a team composed of non-Azerbaijanis can "represent" the country of Azerbaijan is more than a little bizarre. American NHL teams play against Canadian NHL teams, and we don't say they represent the United States. But let's put that aside. Does the University of Florida "represent" the United States? Does Llaneras de Toa Baja represent Puerto Rico? Does Hyundai Greenfox represent South Korea? When there is more than one team from the same country in the same sport, do they all "represent" the same country? Even when they are composed mostly or even completely of athletes from other countries? Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 19:26, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
You have expressed your personal opinion. I would like you to point out directly to the argument. No, necessary. University of Florida is not a club, but there are University backed teams in professional leagues representing their countries. For example, three of the teams participating during 2013 Women's South American Volleyball Club Championship were College-backed fully professional clubs (Boston College, Universidad Metropolitana and Universidad César Vallejo). You argument against clubs are bias. There are club competitions in most of the Continental Confederations,-all but NORCECA. You have not answered any of my previous questions about related articles of other sports. Since we are talking about clubs from different countries why do you want start hunting volleyball related articles? Even when is proven that is representing your claim you would prefer to stick to your personal point of view, rather of withdraw your claim? Every list of volleyball clubs should continue to show the flags, not to make it more beautiful, but rather to inform the reader, and yes everything meets WP:MOSICON.
