The following is from the fr-Wiki article on the town of fr:Eauze, citing the Code officiel géographique de l'INSEE:
"Le nom officiel de la commune, tel qu'enregistré dans le Code officiel géographique de l'INSEE, est « Eauze », sans accent, prononcé et non . Cependant, il est fait usage, au niveau local, du nom « Éauze », avec accent, qui ne présente aucun caractère officiel, en l'absence d'un décret en Conseil d'État, tel que prévu par l'article L. 2111-1 du code général des collectivités territoriales."
In other words, even though it is pronounced , the official spellng of the name is Eauze, without an accent on the first letter. Even though locally it is also often written Éauze, this usage has no official standing. On this basis I am changing the spelling back to that without an accent.HeartofaDog (talk) 23:16, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
