I just want to explain, for the record, that calling his fight with Saldivar a "super fight" is not a point of view: in boxing, many fights get advertised as "super fights", this was the case of Jofre-Saldivar. It doesnt mean that the fight was actually a great fight to watch.
"Antonio Window Watcher Martin"
==Greatest Fighter Ever==
He is. Maybe not as charismatic as Robinson or as prolific as Greb, but Jofre's talent is up there. Yeah, i might be exaggerating a little, but I just wanted to give the man his due.
5"11 height?
I doubt that he was 5"11, I think a fighter that is supposedly that tall wont fight in a crouching style.i think he was 5"6 tops
Vegetarian
I'd read in a boxing book years ago that Jofre had been taken to a slaughterhouse as a youngster and was so upset by the visit that he later became a vegetarian, and throughout his boxing career. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Opusv5 (talk • contribs) 13:57, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Possibly copyvio
I suspect a GFDL violation resulting from the machine translation from English to Portuguese in the version mentioned above. Furthermore, the machine translation from Portuguese to English might have been performed in the fourth revision after this. These were reverted to the version without a problem in the second revision after this. Therefore, these six revisions might have to be deleted. --Akira Kouchiyama 13:50, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

About the last fight
"After a string of fights against lesser opponents, he retired, having beaten the Mexican Octavio Gomez by a unanimous but controversial decision": Well, Jofre himself put in doubt the rightness of the decision. In an interview to the Rio de Janeiro's newspaper "O Globo" just after the bout, Jofre said "I did not beat Famoso Gomez". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 177.206.194.73 (talk) 03:25, 6 July 2018 (UTC)
