According to Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Football/Notability, All teams that have played in the the national cup (or the national level of the league structure in countries where no cup exists) are assumed to meet WP:N criteria. Teams that are not eligible for national cups must be shown to meet broader WP:N criteria. Østsiden IL has played in the Norwegian Cup several times, with a quarter final in 1962 as their best result. The article now mentions this, and as such the PROD rationale "No indication of notability" is no longer valid. So I removed the PROD tag. 96T (talk) 20:31, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
OK. Tenuous, quarter final in 1962 in Norway is pretty marginal but if those are the rules then OK. Does it still play in the national cup? Polargeo (talk) 12:00, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, they've been in the national cup 36 times, including 2008 and 2009. They keep track of their cup results here. Their main claim to fame however is that two of the most famous Norwegian footballer/managers of all time, Egil Olsen and Jørn Andersen, started their careers there. 96T (talk) 14:22, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
