Proposed move
- The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was no consensus and no input in over two weeks - defaults to no move. JPG-GR (talk) 02:44, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

- Łukta (village) → Łukta — no need for disambiguating tag — Kotniski (talk) 10:55, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- I have restored Łukta to a disambig. The move requested here would leave no link to Łukta (municipality). Note: Łukta (municipality) redirects to Gmina Łukta, but "Gmina" is Polish for "municipality", not part of a placename. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:43, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well, Gmina Łukta is the name of the municipality (the adopted naming convention here is to use the Polish name - the other 2000-odd articles on gminas follow that rule too). So there's no need for a link to the redirect page Łukta (municipality) - the article Łukta (village) (subject of the move request) links prominently to Gmina Łukta which is equivalent. (The move would actually just bring these places into line with the standard setup for Polish districts.)--Kotniski (talk) 12:33, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- What about Łukta River? Hatnotes are generally sufficient for only two article that need to be disambiguated; when there are 3 or more, a dab page becomes necessary. Parsecboy (talk) 16:28, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Well here there are only really two (village and river) - Gmina Łukta has a different name, and in any case is linked to at least twice from the village article.--Kotniski (talk) 16:59, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

- It looks like 3 to me. Gmina Łukta is a gmina named Łukta. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:26, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- No - Gmina Łukta is a gmina named Gmina Łukta. Similar situations occur all over Poland and we never feel the need to have a disambiguation page unless there are other villages with the same name. (Indeed Polish Misplaced Pages has exactly the setup I'm proposing.)--Kotniski (talk) 06:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Officially Gmina Łukta. But many people are likely to call it merely Łukta. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:39, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think so. At least, only in some special contexts (when you know you're talking about gminas). Someone wouldn't just type in "Łukta" and expect to go to an article about the gmina - anyway, if they did, they would find themselves on the village page (currently Łukta (village)) and be able to navigate straight to the gmina page from there, learning on the way what the municipality is actually called.--Kotniski (talk) 07:18, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
