Etymology of name Ślęża may have also different root than Silingi people living there. It may come from word "śląg" or "ślęg" meaning swamp in old polish. As this is mountain is separated form others it has vast amount of rainfall. This, and geological structure causes the mountain to be very wet, with lots of small streams, and springs. So there is a group of researchers saying that the name is coming from this swampy nature of mountain 83.27.5.11 13:20, 12 June 2007 (UTC) Jaszczur
