External Links
How is a link to a random blog about the fabia vrs more relevant than a forum that skoda owners can seek help and advice from as well as tons of information? Take the article about the Volkswagen Golf for example, it has external links to just about every Volkswagen forum there is! http://en.wikipedia.org/Volkswagen_Golf#External_links Apinner (talk) 20:14, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- I have removed those. My suggestion: if you find another links like that, just remove them. Dekisugi (talk) 23:09, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
Wrong converter
Converter is working wrong: currently in information about 1.9 SDI engine 47 kW is converted to 63 hp (should be 64 hp). Marcinw2
47 kW (64 PS; 63 hp), I think its working ok? these hps are us hps... not European ones, which is PS used here in englsih wikipedia --Typ932 00:35, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
OK, but in this situation there should be maybe two values (PS and hp) given, because it can make misunderstanding for European people (which I believe were/are main users of these engines)..like currently:
- http://en.wikipedia.org/%C5%A0koda_Fabia - 63 hp
- http://en.wikipedia.org/Suction_Diesel_Injection - 63 hp
- http://en.wikipedia.org/List_of_discontinued_Volkswagen_Group_diesel_engines - 64 hp
What do you think ?
- Its preferred to have PS (metric horsepower) in European manufactured cars, you can change those hp to PS if you are sure they are metric horsepower, those conversion templates can also show both if needed/wanted even bhp (british) can be shown
- Power
Template | Result |
---|---|
{{convert|140|kW|PS|abbr=on}} | 140 kW (190 PS) |
{{convert|140|kW|PS bhp|0|abbr=on}} | 140 kW (190 PS; 188 bhp) |
{{convert|140|kW|PS hp|0|abbr=on}} | 140 kW (190 PS; 188 hp) |
{{convert|188|bhp|kW PS|0|abbr=on}} | 188 bhp (140 kW; 191 PS) |
{{convert|190|PS|kW bhp|1|abbr=on}} | 190 PS (139.7 kW; 187.4 bhp) |

W plates
What are 'W plates'? I'm from The Netherlands (Europe), this may be a UK-reference.
It is indeed. The whole article in its present form is obviously written from a UK perspective. 'W' would have been the first letter on the number plate on a car sold in the Britain from August 2000.
Advert
Shouldn't there be something in here about the advert where they make it out of cake?
Skoda Fabia WRC
What about the WRC participation of Skoda? There should be added something about it. Emerge.life 11:24, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
RS / vRS?
can someone include the new RS and vRS models and the difference between them? I'm confused! --81.156.224.97 (talk) 19:12, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
It's the same car -- the vRS is only called that in the UK, in the rest of the world it's the RS. The problem is the logo -- what looks like the letter v is supposed to be an abstract representation of wings. Emoedison (talk) 13:34, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
'Typ' third generation
I have the impression that the coding for the third generation Skoda Fabia is '6V' rather than 'NJ' as cited in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LeonCR (talk • contribs) 08:31, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Image Change
Davey2010, EurovisionNim As requested by Nim. Viewing the pictures, from what I see there all yes and no. For the front end, the previous image was much sharper and clearer, Nim's photo is better cropped but seeing the image carefully, it does suffer from (I might be wrong) chromatic aberrations and noise, especially on the wheels, tires and around the edges of the car, giving a odd purplish and orange colour. The previous image was fine, of course the white Transporter is a little distracting but sometimes it not always possible to get a photo with little to no distraction at all, but that can be overwhelmed by how you photograph it. (Such as the angle, the lighting, reflection) If that make sense?
The rear shot by Nim is not as bad, although they are both in busy backgrounds, personally I think if it at a car dealership like most of M 93 pictures and some of mine are, then the cars in the background can be a exception since it be bit odd to photograph a car in a dealership without at least another car in the background. M 93's photo highlights more of the body panels as well as better clarity around the wheels. Unfortunately the pickup and SUV above the roof are at awkward position while the previous rear shot has a nice blank wall, again doesn't always overwhelm the quality of the picture but for the case for Nim's along with the other problems I pointed, it does. --Vauxford (talk) 23:57, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Many thanks for starting a discussion,
- My main 2 issues with Nim's images are that that like you say his images seem to be more purple/orange and the tires aren't as clear as with the other image - When you view these at infobox-size level his images (without being disrespectful) look worse than the ones he's replacing,
- When it comes to replacing images I'm always a stickler for wanting better images not worse although ofcourse that's subjective,
- Having just compared the diffs I do have to say Nim's front end image is much better and more brighter so that shouldn't of been replaced however I still believe the M93 rear image is better, Thanks, –Davey2010 00:36, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- Continuing on from 2nd October 2018, I have re-edited the image of the front view omitting the CA and also I didn't make any further edits. --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 08:22, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi all, continuing on from this discussion Davey2010 I've received your complaints and omitted the image of the vehicles involved. Also I think mine be a better choice than M93's because it is at the same angle as the wagon --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 12:23, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
:::I've now gone ahead and replaced the image with this one - Both seem to be equally poor and dark .... so as I said I've now replaced it. –Davey2010 12:49, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) NVM Nim's replaced it with File:2018 Skoda Fabia SE MPi 1.0.jpg which is equally as good, Thanks all. –Davey2010 12:52, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- Tbh, I actually preferred the other white one of Vauxford's. Davey, please utilize WP:CARPIX as a resource before reverting this edit. We have set standards. Also how does a DSLR image is "low quality". Leave as is, the image I used is fine. Its Vauxford's so we have equal share in the article. Enjoy your night --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 12:51, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
