The result was merge into (I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons.

merge

This is the same song as the one under I Love You For Sentimental Reasons and Misplaced Pages policy is not to have articles for each individual version. There should be no reason not to merge. -- BRG 18:19, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Agree. Kevin 19:22, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Especially since of all the versions of the song that have been done, in the year 2037, when the Misplaced Pages article still exists, Five Star will be no more than a historical footnote, as are Donnie Elbert, Art Kassel, and the Voices Five. Info on the song should be more comprehensive for versions by artists likely to possess better staying power, such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, James Brown, Sam Cooke, and Marvin Gaye.PJtP 14:41, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Not only should they be merged, they should be located at the actual name of the song, (I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons (currently a redirect). There should also be disambiguation at For Sentimental Reasons. 147.70.242.40 20:32, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Merged. I've kept the infobox as it may appease the tens of Five Star fans as there may be those who want to look up their chronology. Info on the video and their career direction was merged or already discussed in the Five Star album page for this song. --Wolfer68 (talk) 18:40, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Article emphasis wrong- FiveStar over Cole/Cooke/Fitzgerald?

Agree with PJtP (in "Merge" discussion) that emphasis of article is wrong. The FiveStar single photo in the sidebox should be replaced with one of the four he mentions, preferably Cole as his was biggest commercial success. GBrady (talk) 20:10, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Disambiguate from "For Sentimental Reasons (1936 Song)"

Don't have the Wiki skills to handle the edit, but both the "(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons" and the "For Sentimental Reasons (1936 Song)" need disambiguation. Thanks for helping. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jasmith.sdsu (talkcontribs) 17:10, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

Non-encyclopedic content

This article had, among other opinion/attacking things:

"That should be the end of any controversy"

"Best who was always at odds with Watson, and began recording behind Watson's back with another band, after the publishing clearly listed the two names as composer (Best) and lyricist (Watson), had claimed that he'd originally written the lyrics for a little girl as a 12 year old boy, simply does not hold water, since a 12 year old would have no idea about being sentimental, as if two kids could have had a long history. Best and fans of Best had a list of petty complaints and accusations"

That's super-non-encyclopedic, and was added, among other changes, in this single edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=%28I_Love_You%29_For_Sentimental_Reasons&type=revision&diff=949042121&oldid=948828381

I've removed some of the unverified changes in that edit, although not all - leaving it up to somebody else to check whether other changes should be reverted as well. --Rihards Olups (talk) 14:11, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
