The Heretic is a play by Morris West, written in 1970 and composed in blank verse.
West expressed his perspective on theater by stating, โTheatre is a win, lose or draw business," said West. "I knew that this was what I wanted to do and this was the way I wanted to do it. Having done it then I knew something would make it possible.โ
The play was published in 1970 and performed in London the same year.
The Heretic was revived in a 1985 production at the Sydney Opera House's Playhouse.
The play was adapted for radio in 1972.

A man Giordano Bruno is accused of being a heretic by the Catholic Church.
