Together is a greatest hits album by Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai, released by Universal and D Sound on November 6, 2001. The album features 16 tracks from Tsai's time with Universal, along with 14 music videos and behind-the-scenes footage from the production of her album Lucky Number (2001).
Background and release
In March 1999, Tsai signed with Universal. During her time with the label, she released four studio albums: 1019 (1999), Don't Stop (2000), Show Your Love (2001), and Lucky Number (2001). These albums achieved commercial success in Taiwan, with sales surpassing 450,000 copies for 1019, 500,000 for Don't Stop, 260,000 for Show Your Love, and 150,000 for Lucky Number.
On November 6, 2001, Universal released Together, a compilation album featuring 16 tracks from Tsai's time with the label. The album also includes 14 music videos and behind-the-scenes footage from the making of Lucky Number.
Critical reception
Tencent Entertainment's Shu Wa commented: "Jolin Tsai's first greatest hits album, which features sixteen tracks that nearly encompass all of her major singles from her time with Universal. The release of this compilation coincided with a period of contract disputes between Tsai and her management company. Additionally, the inclusion of fourteen music videos was a significant draw at the time."
