Reception
Literary review aggregator Book Marks characterized most reviews of the novel as "Rave" reviews. In a positive review, Julian Lucas praised the novel, writing it was an "elegant and unsettling prose still-life".
In 2024, the novel won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award for Fiction.
