Deletion
It's not a question of benefits to the community or being a good cause. It's a question of notability. The Scouting Movement is a notable organisation. Individual groups, troops, packs, colonies, etc, usually aren't. If you can show that yours meets WP:GROUP and provide reliable independent sources WP:RS to prove it, try again. Not until. Note that your site, Johnny in Red Six's site, blogs, forums, wikis, Facebook, YouTube, directories and so on, are not reliable independent sources. Keep up the good work anyway. - The WP things are policies - GROUP is about group notability, and RS is about reliable independent sources or references - places where we can check what you are saying. All new articles should have the references (and we're catching up with the very old articles that were posted before things tightened up. That's the only Misplaced Pages talk in my post - the other 'lingo' is Scouting talk. UK scouting might use different groupings from yours. Basically, what I'm saying is that unless your scout group is very unusual, it won't be notable enough for an article. Not everything gets an article. It's not like Facebook or MySpace where anyone can have a page and put what they like (within reason) on it - and keep sole control of it. This is an encyclopaedia where almost anyone can edit. (Obviously, if you haven't got internet access you can't, and some people are blocked from editing or banned from the site for various reasons.) If you're still having problems after reading the policies, have a talk with User:MelanieN, or User:Cindamuse, or look into the Teahouse WP:TEAHOUSE where there are more friendly people who can help you and explain things. I won't be around much for the next couple of days, probably. Just click on those links for the policies or the helpful people. Peridon (talk) 18:37, 13 March 2013 (UTC)
