why is this now a conspiracy ?

Light Globe Conspiracy Addendum

While it's true that the major light bulb manufacturers agreed to limit the average life span to 1000 hours there is a bit more behind the decision. With incandescent bulbs there is a trade off between economy and lifespan and while it's easy to manufacture a bulb with much longer lifespan they invariably are less efficient and use more power. The sweet spot was around 1000 hours so the agreement to aim for 1000 hours was not unreasonable. ReubenJohn5235 (talk) 06:58, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
